Application deadlines

  • Fall Admission: May 15
  • Spring Admission: November 15

Eligibility Requirements

  • A 3.0 minimum GPA
  • Enrollment in an undergraduate degree program at an accredited U.S. institution
  • Permission from the home institution to study abroad.

Step-by-Step Process

  1. Meet with your study abroad advisor: Your advisor will help you understand which courses will work for your major and transfer seamlessly back to your school.
  2. Secure Financial Aid: Talk to your school’s financial aid office to determine what their financial aid policies are for study abroad programs. Generally, the federal grants and loans that you receive to study at your home campus can be applied to study abroad with Hopewell. Many U.S. colleges and universities will also allow you to use school-awarded scholarships in addition to federal grants. We will work closely with your home institution, and will be happy to help if you or your college financial aid officer needs assistance.
  3. Apply online: If your advisor gives you the green light to participate in our program, you can then fill out the online application forms and submit other required materials before our deadlines.

General Application Requirements:

  • Hopewell Study Abroad Application Form.
  • Non-refundable $50 application fee: Please make your check or money order payable to Hopewell Education.
  • 3 photographs, 1.5×2.0 inch, passport style. Please print your name and school on the back of each photo.
  • Official transcript from your school.
  • Copy of the photo page of your passport.
  • Chinese University Applications.
  • Study Abroad Advisor’s Form.
  • Academic Recommendation Form.

Financial Aid Requirements:

  • Financial Aid Arrangements form. If you will be applying any financial aid toward the cost of your Hopewell study abroad program, please complete and return the Financial Aid Arrangements form.
  • Contractual agreements. Ask your financial aid officer to send a contractual agreement to Hopewell. This written agreement certifies that your home university will process your financial aid and then pay Hopewell on your behalf. The contractual agreement is the only guarantee that your financial aid will be transferred to your study abroad program.
  • Award letters. If you plan to transfer financial aid to pay for your Hopewell program, please have an award letter sent to our office as soon as possible. Often, financial aid payments are not made until after your study abroad program begins, so the award letter is proof that financial aid will pay for part or your entire program. If we do not receive your award letter, you must pay the program fee in full by the due date.
