Every semester, Hopewell organizes several trips to help our students better understand China and its unique cultural heritage.
We also pair each of our students with a local Beijing family, offering a rare glimpse into the family lives of ordinary Chinese.
Fall Semester
- Rural homestay visit – Shandong Province (September)
- Excursion to Xi’an, Shanghai, or Tibet (October)
- Day trips to visit the Great Wall, Forbidden City, Summer Palace, and the Ming Tombs (November)
- Cultural immersion through spending weekends with local Chinese host families
- Volunteer opportunities at local animal shelters, orphanage, and centers for the handicapped
- Friday Night Happy Hours
Full Year Students
- One week trip to Lijiang and Shangri-la (February)
Spring Semester
